Certification de l'anneau thermique

Notre premier projet est la certification d’un anneau de contraception masculine thermique. Selon le Règlement du Dispositif Médical européen (UE 2017/745) , ce type de dispositif médical de contraception relève de la classe IIb , ce qui correspond à une dangerosité assez importante (de la moins dangereuse à la plus dangereuse : I, IIa, IIb et III).

Pour le rendre accessible dans toute l’Europe, il faut obtenir le marquage CE attestant de sa conformité au Règlement européen.

Pour obtenir le marquage CE, il faut démontrer la sécurité et la performance du dispositif au travers d’une étude clinique adaptée aux exigences du Règlement.

Feb. 2023 - Funding: Male Contraception Initiative ($300K) and an American philanthropist ($30K)

Feb. 2024 - Funding by the Conseil régional de Nouvelle-Aquitaine (€50K).

Cadrage de la production

Pour lancer l'étude clinique, les anneaux doivent être produits en conformité avec la norme de Qualité du dispositif médical (ISO 13485:2016).

Une fois le process de production cadré, la première génération d'anneaux pourra être produite et validée par les autorités sanitaires françaises pour commencer l'étude.

2024 - 2026

Clinical investigation

L'investigation clinique a commencé en février 2024 et comporte plusieurs phases : tests du produit, essai de sécurité et essai de performance.

The design of the safety test is currently under development.

The clinical safety trial will start in winter 2024-2025.

Pour cet essai, un panel d'environ 30 hommes va être un suivi dans son utilisation de l'anneau thermique pendant 18 mois en Ile-de-France.

Market access

Suite à l'étude clinique, l'audit final par un organisme notifié permettra d'autoriser l'accès au marché du dispositif médical au regard de sa bonne conformité à la norme ISO 13485:2016.

The certification of a medical device implies important costs due to the research time and the multiple skills it requires. To overcome these obstacles, our team implements a financing strategy with each entrepreneur it accompanies, by favoring public and and participatory financing. By joining us, our members also choose to finance the development of the male contraception.

Clinical development

Entrelac.coop guarantees the safety of users and the performance of each medical device that it accompanies to the market by establishing a clinical development strategy and managing each step of the clinical studies. By mobilizing the scientific community, we promote research in the field of reproductive health.
